On this episode of the HomeKit Insider Podcast, we break down the news from Google’s special event, the launch of the Aqara FP1E presence sensor, and more smart home news.
One of the biggest pieces of news this week was the confirmation that Adaptive Lighting would be coming to Matter-enabled lights.
This was discussed on last week’s episode but we’ve now had further confirmation from Nanoleaf CEO Gimmy Chu.
Nanoleaf also had a new product of its own. Its new Expo Smart Display Cases have been released that are great for storing shoes, models, LEGO sets, and more.
They have integrated lights that are softly diffused around the edges to elegantly highlight your showpiece. They work with the Home app and can sync with music, extend your display, be scheduled, and more.
After the news, we go hands-on with the SmartMe E1 air purifier. This HomeKit-enabled air purifier has swappable filters that have different patterns and designs.
It comes with a metal stand but can be wall mounted as well for better circulation and look more like an art piece. It also connects over Wi-Fi.
We had time for one listener question this week from Dylan. He’s looking for HomeKit cameras that would work over hardwire and support 4K resolution.
